An awesome list that actually tested the tools it recommends

What it does A curated list of open-source skills and toolkits that let Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents make or edit video — Remotion renderers, motion graphics, explainers, avatars, shorts, even music videos. Every repo is read and security-graded by Agent Skills Hub, with a live filterable page refreshed every 8 hours. Bilingual, English and Chinese.

The interesting bit Instead of just listing repos, the maintainers ran 16 skills end to end in a sandbox: same 15-second promo brief, same five lines of copy, no paid model APIs, driven by Claude Code. All 16 passed the same four checks — as did Claude Code with no skill at all, in 4.4 minutes. The honest takeaway is right there in the README: a skill earns its place with a look, a workflow, or footage to edit, not by merely producing a file.

Key highlights

• 353 repos across nine categories, from frameworks (63) to avatars (8), each security-graded
• Real benchmark: times ranged from 2.0 minutes (explainroo) to 23.5 minutes (hyperframes) on the same brief
• Only 9 of 16 skills added sound; 10 of 16 produced a look distinct from the default
• Admission rules are stated plainly: needs a README, an agent-operable interface, and a star/quality bar under 50 stars
• Curation is done by a decision model reading READMEs, not by hand — and they admit borderline repos can land either way

Caveats

• The “look” judgments are by eye, not scored — the README says so itself
• The end-to-end test covers one brief (a 15-second promo); results for explainers or editing workflows may differ
• The list leans on a companion site for filtering and evidence pages, so the GitHub README is partly a teaser for it

Verdict Worth a bookmark if you want agents making video and don’t know where to start — the benchmark table alone saves an afternoon of trial and error. Skip it if you expected a ranked leaderboard; the authors are careful to say it isn’t one.
