MCP Bundles (.mcpb) are zip archives containing MCP servers with a manifest describing their capabilities, enabling one-click installation in desktop apps. The repository provides the bundle specification, a CLI for creating bundles, and the runtime code used by Claude for macOS and Windows to load and verify bundles. This open-sources the tooling previously used only in Claude to enable easy distribution and installation of local MCP servers across the ecosystem.
