OpenResearch provides a desktop app and CLI that turn coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode into research agents capable of reviewing literature, developing hypotheses, running experiments, and producing research artifacts. It supports parallel exploration by giving each research direction an independent agent session and isolated git worktree, and tracks variants in a git-native experiment tree with immutable archives of each run. The system integrates with local model endpoints like LM Studio, oMLX, and Ollama, and exposes a local dashboard for managing agent sessions.
