Whishper is an open-source, fully local audio transcription and subtitling suite. It leverages FasterWhisper as the backend for faster transcription on CPU while supporting GPU acceleration. Users can upload files or provide URLs for transcription, download results in formats like SRT, VTT, TXT, or JSON, edit subtitles inline, and translate transcriptions via LibreTranslate. The entire pipeline runs locally on the user’s machine.
