A map of your app, for people who never read the code
Floorplan turns Claude Code or Codex loose on your codebase and gets back an interactive, plain-English diagram of how everything fits together.

What it does
Floorplan is a plugin for Claude Code and Codex that reads your codebase and produces a zoomable map of the whole app: parts, files, endpoints, screens, and the web requests connecting frontend to backend — even when they live in separate repos. Every card gets a plain-English name (“Takes card payments at checkout” rather than “Stripe API wrapper”), and you can ask the map questions like “what happens when someone places an order?” and get an answer plus a mini-map of just the pieces involved.
The interesting bit
It’s aimed squarely at the vibe-coding crowd: people who built a working app with AI and honestly can’t answer “what breaks if I change this?” The Health check scans for classic AI-built-app mistakes — keys committed to code, open Supabase tables, fakeable Stripe webhooks, unauthenticated endpoints — each with a ready-to-paste fix. And after every AI change, the touched cards light up green with a note on why.
Key highlights
- Matches frontend requests to the server endpoints that answer them, across repos
- “Start from a screen”: pick a page and see everything behind it, down to the database and outside services
- Health check for common AI-built-app security slips, with one-click fix prompts
- Can also draw dashed “blueprints” from a PRD for apps you haven’t built yet
- Zero dependencies, runs entirely on your machine, nothing committed to git; updates re-read only what changed
Caveats
- Requires Node 18+ and either Claude Code or Codex — it’s a plugin, not a standalone tool
- The README itself calls the Health check “a check, not an audit,” which is honest framing worth keeping
- Plain-English naming is generated by an LLM, so quality presumably depends on the model doing the reading
Verdict
If you built something with AI and can’t explain how it works, this is the diagram nobody drew for you. Developers who already know their codebase function-by-function will get more from a knowledge-graph tool like Understand Anything instead.
