Teaching Claude the motion-design taste it was missing
An agent skill that turns Claude into a Remotion editor with real easing, stagger, and a self-checking render loop — no more flat fades.

What it does
This is a Claude agent skill — a folder of rules and reference components — that makes Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Claude AI produce professional motion graphics with Remotion (React + TypeScript video rendering). You describe the video in plain English; Claude builds it, renders it, extracts frames with ffmpeg, inspects them, and only delivers after fixing what looks wrong. It covers logo stings, vertical Reels, kinetic typography, captions, B-roll edits, and sound design.
The interesting bit
The core insight is that Remotion was never the bottleneck — motion-design craft was. So the skill encodes that craft as ten non-negotiable rules (springs over linear interpolation, staggered entrances, a five-layer grade/grain stack, Ken Burns on every still) plus a mandatory render → inspect → fix → re-render loop, so Claude verifies its own output instead of shipping blind.
Key highlights
- 17 copy-paste motion components in
references/motion-patterns.md— reveals, counters, transitions, captions, and more - Deterministic, editable output: exact text, colors, and timing, re-renderable forever — unlike generative video models
- All timing derives from
fpsand all styling flows through onetheme.ts; no magic numbers or inline colors - Four full example compositions ship in
examples/, including a beat-synced code edit with a synthesized 120 BPM track - MIT-licensed and model-agnostic — any Claude that supports agent skills can use it
Caveats
- It’s glue with taste: the value is entirely in the rules and reference docs, not in any runtime code — if you already know Remotion well, you may know much of this
- Requires a Claude subscription or API access; the skill itself is free but the editor is not
Verdict
Anyone who wants AI-generated video that’s brand-controlled and actually watchable should try this. If you need photorealistic generated footage rather than motion graphics, stick with the diffusion-video tools — this is a different job.
