Teaching your AI coding tool actual design taste
A small collection of markdown skills that turn Claude Code, Cursor, and friends into designers with opinions.

What it does
It’s a set of self-contained design skills — plain markdown files you drop into whatever rules mechanism your AI coding tool already reads. Two exist so far: landing-page-design, which walks a model through intake questions, page structure, conversion copy, and a full visual system (type, spacing, radius, motion); and design-to-motion, which turns a static design into a looping animated showcase exported as MP4 and GIFs.
The interesting bit This is prompt engineering disguised as a repo — no code, no dependencies, just carefully structured instructions. The clever part is that each skill’s design values (fonts, colors, spacing) live in one editable section at the bottom of the file, so forking and tweaking the taste is a five-minute job rather than a rewrite.
Key highlights
- Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf, Cline, or any tool that reads a markdown rules file
landing-page-designcovers the whole pipeline: intake questions, structure, copy, and visual systemdesign-to-motionproduces pixel-exact loops with the background left untouched, exported for X and the web- Honest credits: it adapts ideas from
taste-skill,emilkowalski/skills, and others, all MIT - MIT licensed, no attribution required — fork it and sell what you build
Caveats
- Only two skills so far; the “growing collection” is still short
- The redesign skill for existing sites lives in a separate repo, which is easy to miss
Verdict Worth a look if your AI-generated pages look like they were styled by a committee of default settings. If you already have strong design opinions of your own, you’ll mostly be reading it for structure.
