Point your agent at an app, get a native Mac clone
BAMA is a set of 21 agent skills that walks a macOS app from screenshots to user stories to a SwiftUI build — no Xcode GUI required.

What it does
BAMA (“Build Any Mac App”) is a collection of agent skills for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and friends. The workflow: your agent screenshots every screen of an app you like, writes a screen index, turns that into a backlog of user stories with acceptance criteria, and then builds the app one story per commit in Swift and SwiftUI. A router skill (bama) inspects your project and picks the next step, so you don’t have to memorize the pipeline.
The interesting bit
The discipline is the point. Before every commit it snapshots every page in light and dark mode and runs tests; the layout-grid skill enforces a 4pt grid with a code lint, a layout probe, and a grid overlay; design-from-app measures sizes, type, and colors from screenshots and compares pixel by pixel until the clone matches. It’s glue code in the best sense — the glue is process, not libraries.
Key highlights
- 21 skills across five stages: start, plan, code, design, ship
cloneuses computer use or a browser to screenshot any app’s screensagent-clioptionally adds a CLI and MCP server so agents can drive the finished app- 12 ready-made specs for small apps (window snapper, launcher, clipboard history, etc.), taken apart from the author’s own menu bar app
- Runs fully local: SwiftData, no backend, and you never open the Xcode GUI
Caveats
- Requires macOS 26+, Xcode 26+, and Swift 6.2 — this is bleeding-edge Apple territory
- Cloning native apps needs computer use, i.e. a Claude Pro or Max subscription
- The README doesn’t say how well the pixel-matching or self-test loops actually perform in practice; expect to babysit
Verdict
Worth a look if you’ve ever wanted a native Mac version of a web or iOS app and have a capable agent subscription. If you’re on an older macOS or allergic to agent-driven workflows, this is not your tool.
