What it does

You name a topic — negotiation, sourdough, SQL — and Claudemy researches 20–40 web pages, then writes and records about 12 audio lessons of 2 minutes each, delivered as two hosts chatting rather than a lecture. Each lesson comes with a card: the idea in three lines, how many sources agree (and who doesn’t), one small thing to try, and links back to the pages it read. It also collects one rule per lesson into a playbook you keep.

The interesting bit

The citation checker is the part worth caring about: a lesson is refused if it cites a page the research didn’t actually read. It also caps pages per site at three so no single voice dominates, and the lesson plan is laid out as decisions — showing where experts split — rather than a tidy syllabus pretending consensus. It makes one sample lesson and waits for your reaction before committing to the rest.

Key highlights

  • Runs entirely on your machine inside Claude Code — no server, no analytics, nothing stored off-device
  • Falls back to free macOS voices if you don’t have an ElevenLabs key; cards and playbook work with no audio at all
  • Can build a course from one specific person’s writing (their Substack or blog) if you name them
  • MIT licensed; you pay only for your existing Claude plan and optional ElevenLabs credits
  • Health, legal and financial topics get a note where advice depends on your situation

Caveats

  • Requires Claude Code with web search, plus Python 3, beautifulsoup4, and ffmpeg — this is a developer’s learning tool, not a consumer app
  • A 12-lesson course is a long-running session including ~25 minutes of audio generation, so it’s not instant
  • The natural two-voice audio needs a paid ElevenLabs key; the free fallback voices are, by the README’s own admission, plainer

Verdict

Worth a look if you already live in Claude Code and want microlearning with citations instead of a 40-hour tab you’ll never reopen. If you’re not a Claude Code user or want polished production audio out of the box, this isn’t for you.
