Your AI agent gets a real Linux desktop and you keep the keyboard

What it does

Agent Zero is an agentic framework packaged as a single Docker container that runs a complete Linux system with an XFCE desktop. The agent can open and manipulate actual desktop applications—Blender, terminal emulators, LibreOffice—while you observe and intervene through a shared Web UI canvas. It also includes a built-in browser with annotation tools, a collaborative Markdown editor, and a plugin hub with over 100 community extensions.

The interesting bit

Most agent frameworks treat the world as an API; Agent Zero treats it as a desktop environment. The built-in browser can annotate, inspect, or “lift” DOM elements into implementation tasks, and the A0 CLI Connector lets the agent reach out of its container onto your host machine to work with local repositories. It is deliberately transparent—prompts and tools live in plain directories, and the agent can spawn subordinate agents to divide labor.
