Your AI agent now talks like a Warcraft peon

What it does

peon-ping hooks into AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to announce state changes with audio clips and on-screen banners. When an agent completes a task, errors out, or needs user approval, it plays a contextual voice line—Warcraft III Peons, GLaDOS, Kerrigan, and others—rather than leaving you to poll a silent terminal. It also updates terminal tab titles and flashes large overlay banners across macOS, WSL, and MSYS2 so the event is visible even when you are in another application.

The interesting bit

The project treats notification audio as a standardized interface by implementing the Coding Event Sound Pack Specification (CESP), which means any agentic IDE can share the same event taxonomy and users can swap community packs. It even exposes an MCP server that lets the agent dynamically pick its own sound for an event, turning your build loop into a theatrical duet.
