What it does

This is a suite of 11 Claude skills covering a full day-trading loop: scanning ~5,900 US stocks for setups, monitoring breaking news, timing entries bar by bar, planning stops and targets, sizing positions, enforcing risk limits, and executing orders (paper trading by default). Everything is standard-library Python reading free public data — Yahoo Finance charts, Nasdaq Trader symbol lists, SEC EDGAR, and House Clerk disclosures. Skills pass state through a shared trader/ folder, so each one reads what the last one wrote.

The interesting bit

The Time Machine is the star: before you enter, it replays the rest of the session 10,000 times, drawing each 5-minute candle from the stock’s own recent bars at that time of day, and cross-checks against every past session where the same setup fired. In the README’s worked TSLA example it honestly concludes “close to a coin flip” — a tool that talks you out of trades is rarer than one that talks you into them.

Key highlights

  • Full pipeline: scanner → news → entry → exit → timemachine → budget → risk → broker, with alerts running while a position is open
  • Nothing places an order without /trader-risk passing it and you typing yes; paper mode is the default
  • All standard-library Python, no dependencies, free data sources, no API keys
  • Offline test suite with fixtures cut from real data that reproduce every number in the README example
  • Bonus oddity: a Pelosi tracker that reads congressional trade disclosures the minute they file

Caveats

  • Yahoo Finance’s chart endpoint is unofficial — it can lag, change, or rate-limit; bars are 1- or 5-minute, not every tick
  • The Time Machine is a simulation built from the last 60 days, not a prediction; the README says so plainly
  • Broker execution goes through Alpaca’s MCP server, so you’re locked into that connector for live (or paper) trading

Verdict

Worth a look if you already day trade and want Claude as a disciplined, risk-checking assistant rather than a hype machine. If you don’t trade, the honest fine print — “most people who day trade lose money” — is the most valuable part of the README.
