A statusline for Claude Code, plus a patcher that mutes its nagging

What it does

It renders the Claude Code statusline: current directory, Git branch with clean/dirty/conflict markers and ahead/behind counts, a simplified model name (claude-4-sonnet becomes Sonnet 4), and a context-window usage percentage derived from transcript analysis. Everything is configured through TOML files or an interactive TUI with live preview, and it ships with built-in themes (gruvbox, nord, powerline-dark, and friends) plus support for custom ones.

The interesting bit

Beyond the statusline, ccline --patch modifies Claude Code’s own cli.js to disable the “Context low” warnings and enable verbose mode — with automatic backups and a patcher designed to survive Claude Code updates. It’s a statusline tool that also performs minor surgery on its host.

Caveats

• Requires a Nerd Font in your terminal, or the icons turn into tofu
• The patcher modifies Claude Code’s cli.js directly — backups exist, but you’re patching a moving target that updates itself
• Windows path handling has version-specific quirks; the README warns %USERPROFILE% no longer works reliably on Claude Code v2.147+

Verdict

Worth it if you live in Claude Code and want Git state and context burn-rate at a glance. If you don’t use Claude Code, there’s nothing here for you — the patcher certainly won’t help.
