Your bot team's memory is just a Git repo you can edit
Tobs (née DeepSeekBot) gives you a crew of persistent, personality-carrying agents that live in your chat apps and remember you across sessions.

What it does
Tobs is an MIT-licensed, open-source GrokBot alternative that runs as a plugin inside DeepSeek Harness (DSH). You create multiple bots — a researcher, a writer, an engineer — each with its own name, persona, and pixel avatar, then chat with them one-on-one or pull them into group chats where they collaborate and @ each other. They connect to Slack, Discord, Feishu/Lark, QQ, and WeChat, replying in their own identity, and can run scheduled tasks like a daily 9am log digest.
The interesting bit
Each bot’s memory is literally a plain Git repository. You can browse what it remembered, see which lines changed on which day, correct it by hand, and push to GitHub to share the same bot across machines. Memory you can diff and revert is a genuinely refreshing take on the usual opaque vector blob.
Key highlights
- Multi-bot group collaboration: @ whoever you need; bigger tasks get delegated and reported back
- Persistent, inspectable, editable memory per bot, synced via Git
- Bots can operate a computer and browser after authorization — you watch live and can pause anytime
- Bot marketplace to install bots others shared, or package yours as a zip for friends
- Pixel avatars generated from each bot’s name, which morph into the tool the bot is currently using
Caveats
- It’s a plugin, not a standalone app — you need the DSH desktop client, and the machine running DSH must stay online for background bot work
- Recently renamed from DeepSeekBot to Tobs; it’s a separate project from the similarly-named
ds-botnpm package, which invites confusion - Model access depends on whatever provider and quota you configure in DSH
Verdict
Worth a look if you want personal agents with memory you can actually audit, especially across Chinese and Western chat platforms. Skip it if you’re not willing to run the DSH desktop app to get there.
