Lawyer LLaMA is a specialized large language model for the Chinese legal domain. It first performs continual pretraining on large-scale Chinese legal texts to learn the legal knowledge system, then uses instruction-tuning data generated with ChatGPT to enable practical legal reasoning and consultation. The model can answer legal exam questions, explain legal concepts, and provide basic legal advice across areas including civil law, criminal law, and family law.
